Artificial Intelligence explanation in 10 minutes. A reference and start guide review.

Introduction

I have been studying different aspects of AI and have found some insightful links to YouTube videos that help with the explanation of AI and its availability to be used in all aspects of our lives. One in particular was the following video:

Video

This is a GREAT example and starter video to get information on AI in a short period of time. I wanted to write a summary of this video in the hopes that someone new to AI and wanting a little more information on it would be able to get that information to help them start on their journey. Below is that summary with the help of AI prompting (Google Gemini) that was used to transcribe the video and provide that summary. I hope this gives you some excitement into how AI can work for you and getting the research that you need. Please make sure to watch the video first if you haven’t already. Enjoy!

Video Review

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a rapidly growing field with the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives. If you’re interested in learning more about AI and how to get started using it, this blog post is for you.

In this post, we’ll provide a high-level overview of AI, discuss some of the different types of AI, and explore some of the most common applications of AI. We’ll also provide some resources to help you get started on your AI journey.

What is AI?

AI is a branch of computer science that deals with the creation of intelligent agents, which are systems that can reason, learn, and act autonomously. AI research has been highly successful in developing effective techniques for solving a wide range of problems, from game playing to medical diagnosis.

There are many different types of AI, but some of the most common include:

  • Machine learning: Machine learning is a type of AI that allows computers to learn without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning algorithms are trained on large amounts of data, and they can then use that data to make predictions or decisions.
  • Natural language processing (NLP): NLP is a type of AI that allows computers to understand and process human language. NLP applications include machine translation, chatbots, and sentiment analysis.
  • Computer vision: Computer vision is a type of AI that allows computers to see and understand the world around them. Computer vision applications include facial recognition, object detection, and self-driving cars.

Applications of AI

AI is already being used in a wide range of applications, and its use is only going to grow in the future. Here are a few examples of how AI is being used today:

  • Self-driving cars: AI is being used to develop self-driving cars that can navigate roads safely and autonomously.
  • Facial recognition: AI is being used to develop facial recognition systems that can be used for security purposes or to identify people in photos and videos.
  • Medical diagnosis: AI is being used to develop AI-powered medical diagnostic tools that can help doctors to diagnose diseases more accurately and efficiently.
  • Customer service: AI is being used to develop chatbots that can provide customer service support.
  • Fraud detection: AI is being used to develop fraud detection systems that can help to identify and prevent fraudulent activity.

Getting started with AI

If you’re interested in getting started with AI, there are a number of resources available to you. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Take an online course: There are a number of online courses available that can teach you the basics of AI. (Ask me about what courses are available and the ones that I can teach or assist you with!)
  • Read books and articles: There are many books and articles available on AI that can help you to learn more about the field. There are lots of resources available via the AI model companies using AI itself!
  • Join an AI community: There are a number of online and offline communities where you can connect with other people who are interested in AI. There are LOTS of good AI groups on LinkedIn. You can use hashtag #AI to get started.
  • Start working on your own AI projects: There are a number of open-source AI tools and libraries available that you can use to start working on your own AI projects. If you’re interested in OpenAI or Copilot customization, talk to me about the work I do with RealActivity and the healthcare industry.

Conclusion

AI is a powerful tool with the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives. If you’re interested in learning more about AI and how to get started using it, the resources listed above can be a great place to start.
