You go to run the setup program and during the prerequisite checks, setup stops. The error listed is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-small-font-size has-medium-pink-color\"><strong><em>A restart from a previous installation is pending. Please restart the system and rerun setup.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the prerequisite checks, Exchange Setup looks in the registry at the following keys:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><font size=\"2\" color=\"blue\"><em>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Updates\\UpdateExeVolatile<\/em><\/font><\/strong><\/li><li><font size=\"2\" color=\"red\"><strong>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\Session Manager\\PendingFileRenameOperations<\/strong><\/font><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Nine times out of ten, a restart does NOT remediate this error.
